Club History

The Kiwanis Club of St. George’s Charter Night was held at the Princess Margaret Rose Restaurant, St. George’s Club, St. George’s on 11th March, 1989.

The District Governor Gene Burman presented the Charter.

The address was given by The Wor. J. Henry Hayward, J.P., Mayor of St. George’s

The first President was Leon E. Fubler.

The sponsoring clubs were the Kiwanis Club of Hamilton, Bermuda and the Kiwanis Club of Norwalk, Connecticut.

The Club was commenced due to the hard work of Jack Keogh, Jr. K. I. A. R. from the Kiwanis Club of Norwalk, Connecticut.  He walked around every business in St. George’s and St. David’s encouraging the managers of the shops and businesses to join him in forming the Kiwanis Club of St. George’s.
